Product planning process has been highly developed in automotive industry; it involves consideration of nearly all functions of business; implicit in planning process are -- prediction and definition of changes in market and in technology, analysis and determination of objectives which result in optimum solution, and method of monitoring and control to insure that objectives are realized; paper examines one systematic approach using case history to illustrate manner in which task can be organized as well as some of specific techniques which can be used.
