Relative merits of various combinations of transverse and longitudinal structure in reducing torsional deflections in model midship section; though no quantitative results can be obtained due to lack of similitude, relative effectiveness of each structural modification can be evaluated; net result is that judicious choice of structure can make all-hatch ship of comparable rigidity to standard ship.
