THE keynote of the Probe and Drogue system is the ease with which aircraft of a wide variety of types can be converted from their normal role to that of aerial tankers by the use of a tanker pack. The receiver aircraft makes use of a simple permanently-installed probe of almost negligible weight which can be retractable if required.
