The invention relates to a vertical take-off and landing light airplane. The light airplane is characterized in that it is equipped with one or two fan ducts, and lifting cascade is installed in the fan duct. The front blades are fixed and the rear blades can deflect. During take-off, each rear blade rotates downward to a certain angle to lead air flow to deflect downward. Under the combined action of the air flow generated thrust and the lift force acting on the cascade, the airplane takes off, and no longer needs a runway to slide and accelerate. The light airplane provided by the invention has the advantages that it can take off and land in a house courtyard or on roof terrace, has no need for a runway, and is conducive to popularization and use. Similar to general light airplanes, the light airplane provided by the invention has the characteristics of oil saving, low noise, long air range. Having both wings and duct blades, the light airplane can realize glide landing, thus reducing the rapid fall risk of helicopters due to engine shutdown.
