Examples of the present disclosure describe a method and an apparatus in automated driving vehicles for reducing collision risk is provided. The method comprises: obtaining a digital map; obtaining acollision risk map related to the digital map, wherein the collision risk map represents a collision risk distribution on the digital map which at least comprises a distribution of high-collision-riskareas having collision risks higher than a predetermined threshold; determining collision risks from the obtained collision risk map for at least a portion of the digital map related to a travellingpath of the vehicle; and making vehicle control decisions based on the determined collision risks to reduce the collision risk.
