The invention provides a storage tank detection wall-climbing robot and a flaw detection method thereof. The storage tank detection wall-climbing robot comprises a detection mechanism, a driving mechanism, a first vehicle body and a second vehicle body, wherein the first vehicle body and the second vehicle body are rotationally connected, and the detection mechanism is suitable for being arranged on at least one of the first vehicle body and the second vehicle body; the driving mechanism comprises a first driving wheel arranged on the first vehicle body and a second driving wheel arranged on the second vehicle body, the first driving wheel is rotationally connected with the first vehicle body, and/or the second driving wheel is rotationally connected with the second vehicle body. Through the first vehicle body and the second vehicle body which are rotationally connected, the first driving wheel and the first vehicle body which are rotationally connected, and/or the second driving wheel and the second vehicle body which are rotationally connected, the storage tank detection wall-climbing robot can have advantages of small size, high flexibility and high stability; and the application range of the storage tank detection wall-climbing robot is widened.
