Systems and methods for vehicle navigation are provided. In one implementation, a system for a host vehicle includes at least one processor programmed to: determine one or more target dynamics of a target vehicle based on an output of at least one sensor of the host vehicle; determining a collision time based on the one or more active mechanics of the host vehicle and the target dynamics; determining a primary deceleration for the primary vehicle to avoid the collision based on the collision time and the active mechanics; determining a target deceleration for the target vehicle to avoid the collision based on the collision time and the target dynamics; determining a primary deceleration threshold based on the primary deceleration and the target deceleration; and making a determination of braking the primary vehicle based on the speed of the primary vehicle and the primary deceleration threshold.
