The invention discloses a multi-locomotive control method and system, and the method comprises the steps: S1, when a brake of a certain locomotive loses power abnormally, carrying out the redundant power supply of another locomotive, and judging whether a battery switch of the brake is tripped off or not; if yes, skipping to S2; if not, the abnormal locomotive implements service braking, and other locomotives implement punishment braking; s2, judging whether the brake which is abnormally powered off is a brake on a control joint or not, and if yes, skipping to S3; if not, the locomotive runs continuously; s3, whether the reconnection control unit breaks down or not is judged, if yes, the master control locomotive conducts punishment braking, and the slave control locomotive follows the master control locomotive to conduct punishment braking; and if not, the control joint implements punishment braking, and the non-control joint implements punishment braking along with the control joint. Compared with the prior art, the method has the advantages that the problem that the locomotive is pulled forwards and dragged backwards or blocked forwards and crowded backwards due to inconsistent traction or braking of the multi-heading locomotive caused by abnormal power loss of the control brake is solved, and safe operation of the multi-heading locomotive is guaranteed.
