The intelligent transportation robot comprises a vehicle body of an n-shaped structure and moving wheels arranged at the bottom of the vehicle body. A door hole in the middle of the n-shaped vehicle body is provided with a transfer space for accommodating materials to be conveyed; a material supporting and grabbing mechanism and a lifting mechanism are arranged on the side face, located in the transfer space, of the trolley body, and the lifting mechanism is connected with the material supporting and grabbing mechanism and can drive the material supporting and grabbing mechanism to move up and down. The moving wheels can be controlled to realize 360-degree rotation and movement of the vehicle body; a guide system and a control system are arranged on the vehicle body; the guiding system is used for acquiring external environment information and receiving position information; and the control system is used for controlling the intelligent transportation robot to identify, grab and transport the materials. The system can automatically plan a route, position, move and carry, can effectively improve the transportation efficiency, reduces the working intensity of workers, and guarantees the operation safety of a construction site.
