The invention relates to a transformer cooling fan lifting device and a using method thereof. The transformer cooling fan lifting device is used for lifting a fan motor to a fan air guide opening. The transformer cooling fan lifting device comprises a mounting frame, a fixing mechanism and a crane mechanism, the mounting frame comprises a first guide rail, a second guide rail and a guide mechanism, the first guide rail, the second guide rail and the guide mechanism are arranged in a frame body enclosing mode and arranged on the peripheral wall of a fan air guide opening in a sleeving mode, and the first guide rail and the second guide rail are arranged in parallel; the two ends of the guide mechanism are slidably connected with the first guide rail and the second guide rail correspondingly. The guide mechanism moves in the length direction of the first guide rail and the second guide rail. The fixing mechanism comprises a plurality of limiting blocks, the limiting blocks are arranged along the mounting frame, and the relative positions of the limiting blocks are adjustable so as to abut against and be fixed to the outer peripheral wall of the air guide opening of the fan; and the crane mechanism is connected with the mounting frame and is used for hoisting the fan motor. Stable constraint can be provided; the fan motor is hoisted through the crane mechanism, manual operation is not needed, manpower is saved, and safety and working efficiency are improved.
