The invention relates to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicle testing, in particular to a small unmanned aerial vehicle performance testing system and method, and the system comprises a testing platform which is provided with a horizontal plane; the multiple laser distance measuring sensors are distributed on the horizontal plane in an array mode, and the distance between every two adjacent laser distance measuring sensors is not larger than 10 cm; the center line of the laser distance measuring sensor is perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The laser distance measuring sensor is used for detecting the height of the unmanned aerial vehicle on the test platform; the laser distance measuring sensors are electrically connected with the controller, and the controller is used for obtaining the detection results of the laser distance measuring sensors and calculating the flight speed and acceleration of the unmanned aerial vehicle according to the detection results of the laser distance measuring sensors.
