The invention provides a lithium battery low-voltage power supply system and method for a shield electric traction locomotive, and belongs to the technical field of lithium battery systems. The lithium battery low-voltage power supply system comprises a BMS, a switch module, a starting switch, a low-voltage power supply battery, a DC/DC converter and a blocking unit, the starting switch is connected with a keyon pin of the BMS and a positive electrode of the low-voltage power supply battery, and the blocking unit is arranged between the positive electrode of the low-voltage power supply battery and a positive power supply port of the BMS. A negative power supply port of the BMS is connected with a control pin of the DC/DC converter through the switch module, and when the starting switch is closed, the low-voltage power supply battery supplies power to the switch module, so that the switch module is conducted, the control pin of the DC/DC converter is controlled to be conducted with a low level, and therefore the DC/DC converter is controlled to work and supply power to the BMS.
