A system for monitoring vehicle fleet integrity is described. The fleet comprises: a first vehicle (V1) and at least one second vehicle (V2) connected to the first vehicle (V1); a communication line (204) arranged to be installed in the first vehicle (V1) and at least one second vehicle (V2); and a power supply line (206) arranged to be installed in the first vehicle (V1) and the at least one second vehicle (V2). The system comprises an electronic control device (208) arranged to be installed in a second vehicle (V2) and arranged to:-verify whether the communication line (204) is interrupted and whether the power supply line (206) is interrupted; and determining that the second vehicle (V2) has been disconnected from the first vehicle (V1) when the electronic control device determines that both the communication line (204) and the power supply line (206) are interrupted according to the verification. A corresponding method is also described.
