A tank connection is installed during extrusion blow molding. The connection is a component penetrating the tank wall. Part of the connection forms a lost molding plunger. The wall of the tank is displaced from one side, into a mold (5) placed on the opposite side of the tank wall and is molded around it. In this process the tank wall is penetrated by the connection. The tank wall is molded to a profiled, plug-shaped projection, or alternatively into an inversion. The multipart mold used, preferably includes a slide (6) and the connecting component (3) is a mandrel- or quill-shaped projection with a cutting edge or needle tip. The tank is molded in stages, from two extruded-strip preforms (1) in a three-part mold. The connecting component is placed on the inner side of the tank, with the associated mold on the outside of the tank. Connection with the tank is provided for attachment of lines leading into or out from the tank. On the side away from the tank wall, the connector is fitted with a line (4). An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding tank.
