The invention relates to a device for a drum brake (1) for a road vehicle. The device comprises an actuator (2) designed to urge apart two segments (12, 13) toward a brake drum. The actuator (2) comprises an elastic urging element (35) which is designed to be elastically deformed when the brake (1) is in a first braking position, and to urge the brake (1) toward a second braking position when the actuator (2) has been actuated and the brake (1) is no longer in the first braking position. The elastic urging element (35) has a rigidity strictly between 0 and 500 N/m.
