The invention relates to a method for the maintenance of a marine structure (2), the structure (2) comprising a wind turbine (20) and at least one essentially vertical shaft (4). The method comprises the use of an auxiliary floating system (1) comprising: at least one floating element (5) that remains semisubmerged throughout the process of maintaining the marine structure (2); at least one coupling structure (7) that connects the system (1) to the floating structure (2); and contact elements (9') and tightening elements (9), which contact and tightening elements are secured to the coupling structure (7) and which are intended to solidly connect the system (1) to the shaft (4). Advantageously, this solid connection allows operations for the maintenance of the marine structure (2) to be carried out in a manner that is efficient and safe for maintenance workers and for the systems involved in the operations.
