PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a friction engagement device which can reduce drag torque while properly securing the cooling performance of a first friction plate and a second friction plate in release states.SOLUTION: A friction engagement device 10 comprises: an oil supply part which supplies oil to a first friction plate 11 and a second friction plate 12 from the inside of a radial direction R; an oil storage part 70 which stores oil supplied by the oil supply part; and an oil discharge part 60 which has an opening part 61 opened to the oil storage part 70, and discharges the oil of the oil storage part 70. An outside support member 20 has a wall face part which surrounds a radial outside end 11a of the first friction plate 11 from the outside of the radial direction R, and from both sides of an axial direction L. The oil storage part 70 is formed of the wall face part, and a radial outside end 61a of the opening part 61 is arranged at the inside of the radial direction R rather than the radial outside end 11a of the first friction plate 11, and at the outside of the radial direction R rather than a radial outside end 12a of the second friction plate 12.
