PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular communication system in which decrease in accuracy of identifying a location of a portable machine can be suppressed and the location of the portable machine therefore can be identified with high accuracy even under a noisy environment.SOLUTION: The vehicular communication system comprises: an on-vehicle machine 1 which transmits signals from a plurality of antennas provided in a vehicle; and a portable machine 2. The portable machine 2 detects an ambient noise level and transmits a result of the detection. The on-vehicle machine 1 transmits a first signal for causing the portable machine 2 to measure a reception signal strength at the portable machine 2 when the noise level is low, and transmits a second signal for causing the portable machine 2 to discriminate success of the reception of the second signal by the portable machine 2 when the noise level is high. The portable machine 2 measures a reception signal strength of the first signal and transmits a response signal. Further, the portable machine 2 discriminates success or not of the reception of the second signal and transmits a response signal. The on-vehicle machine 1 receives the response signal, identifies a location of the portable machine 2 based on the reception signal strength when the noise level is low, and identifies the location of the portable machine 2 based on the success or not of the reception when the noise level is high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】ノイズ環境にあっても携帯機の位置特定精度の低下を抑えることができ、携帯機の位置を高精度に特定することができる車両用通信システムを提供する。【解決手段】車両用通信システムは、車両に設けられた複数のアンテナから信号を送信する車載機1と、携帯機2とを備える。携帯機2は周囲のノイズレベルを検出し、その検出結果を送信する。車載機1は、ノイズレベル小の場合、携帯機2における受信信号強度を測定させるための第1信号を送信し、ノイズレベル大の場合、携帯機2の受信の成否を判定させるための第2信号を送信する。携帯機2は、第1信号の受信信号強度を測定し、応答信号を送信する。また、携帯機2は、第2信号の受信の成否を判定し、応答信号を送信する。車載機1は、応答信号を受信し、ノイズレベル小の場合、受信信号強度に基づいて携帯機2の位置を特定し、ノイズレベル大の場合、受信成否に基づいて携帯機2の位置を特定する。【選択図】図1
