PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force transmission device capable of suppressing the occurrence of abnormal noise during reversing the direction of torque transmission between an outside rotary member and an inside rotary member even if more rotational looseness exists between the outside rotary member and an outside clutch plate.SOLUTION: A driving force transmission device 2 includes a housing 20 and an inner shaft 23 arranged in a coaxial manner, a main clutch 3 consisting of a plurality of main outer clutch plates 31 and a plurality of main inner clutch plates 32, and a cam mechanism 4 for imparting thrust force to the main clutch 3, the housing 20 having a plurality of outer periphery spline projections 211 on the inner peripheral face, the main outer clutch plates 31 each having a plurality of engaging projections 311 at the outer peripheral end for loosely engaging with the plurality of outer periphery spline projections 211. It further includes a friction member 6 for slide contact with the inner peripheral face of the housing 20 to generate frictional resistance force when the main outer clutch plates 31 are rotated relative to the housing 20 within the range of looseness.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
