PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile entity detection system with which it is possible to estimate the distance between a mobile entity that is an object of detection and a cross point even when the mobile entity that is the object of detection is not equipped with a position detector.SOLUTION: A second wireless communication device comprises: a storage unit 204 that stores a relational expression for calculating received signal strength from a logarithm of the sum of the distance from a first mobile entity to a cross point and the distance from a second mobile entity to the cross point and a coefficient multiplied to the logarithm; and a distance estimation unit 216 for estimating the distance from the first mobile entity to the cross point using first received signal strength that is the received signal strength of a mobile entity signal received at a first time, second received signal strength that is the received signal strength of the mobile entity signal received at a second time, a speed included in the mobile entity signal received at the first time or the second time, the distance from the first mobile entity to the cross point at the first time, the distance from the first mobile entity to the cross point at the second time, and the relational expression stored in the storage unit 204.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
