To improve door closing operability of a bonnet hood.SOLUTION: A bonnet latch device includes a latch unit 11 including: a main latch 21 that abuts on and engages with a striker 12 to rotate around a latch shaft 17; and a ratchet 20 that is pivoted on a ratchet shaft 19 to engage with the main latch 21. A latch spring 24 comprises: a coil part 24a; and a first leg part 24b and second leg part 24c that extend from the coil part 24a. The first leg part 24b is made to abut on a side wall 13a of the latch unit 11 and the coil part 24a is made to engage with a spring engagement bent piece 22j provided at the main latch 21, which makes the center X of the coil part 24a and a rotational axis core of the main latch 21 be eccentric.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
