To improve a hydraulic pressure brake system, for example, to estimate a clearance between a brake rotating body and a friction pad in a non-operation state of a hydraulic brake.SOLUTION: A working fluid is returned to a reservoir in response to retreat of a piston upon release of a fluid pressure brake; hence, when an amount of change in a working fluid volume of the reservoir from a reference working fluid volume is large, it can be known that the piston is at a rear position. Also, when a temperature of the fluid pressure brake is high, the piston is returned to a further rear position and the working fluid volume returned to the reservoir becomes large due to thermal expansion or the like of a brake rotating body and a friction engagement member. After that, a clearance between the brake rotating body and the friction engagement member becomes large due to lowering of temperatures of the brake rotating body and the friction engagement member; however, a magnitude of the clearance is determined by a position of the piston. Accordingly, the clearance between the brake rotating body and the friction engagement member can be estimated such as based on the amount of change in the working fluid volume of the reservoir from the reference working fluid volume.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】液圧ブレーキシステムの改良であり、例えば、液圧ブレーキの非作用状態におけるブレーキ回転体と摩擦パッドとの間の隙間を推定することである。【解決手段】液圧ブレーキの解除時に、ピストンの後退に伴って作動液がリザーバに戻されるため、リザーバの作動液量の基準作動液量からの変化量が大きい場合は、ピストンは後方の位置にあることがわかる。また、液圧ブレーキの温度が高い場合は、ブレーキ回転体や摩擦係合部材の熱膨張等に起因して、ピストンはより後方の位置まで戻され、リザーバに戻される作動液量が多くなる。その後、ブレーキ回転体、摩擦係合部材の温度の低下により、ブレーキ回転体と摩擦係合部材との間の隙間は大きくなるが、隙間の大きさはピストンの位置で決まる。以上により、リザーバの作動液量の基準作動液量からの変化量等に基づけばブレーキ回転体と摩擦係合部材との間の隙間を推定することができる。【選択図】図4
