To provide a heavy load tire which can stably exhibit preferable wet performance while suppressing increase of rolling resistance and reduction of wear resistance.SOLUTION: A tire includes a tread contacting a road surface. The tread has a block-shaped land part which has blocks aligned in a circumferential direction, and in which a space between adjacent blocks is a lateral groove. On both sids of the block-shaped land part, a circumferential groove is positioned, the circumferential groove is an irregular circumferential groove having a non-flat groove wall. The lateral groove is shallower than the irregular circumferential groove. An opening of the irregular circumferential groove includes a pair of edges extending in a straight state or in a zigzag state or in a wavy state. A virtual opening of the irregular circumferential groove obtained by virtually cutting the tread in a plane including a groove bottom of the lateral groove has a pair of virtual edges extending in a zigzag state or in a wavy state. A shaped width of the virtual edge is larger than a shaped width of the edge, and the number of virtual apexes included in the virtual edge is larger than the number of the lateral grooves included in the block-shaped land part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
