The present invention introduces a vehicle platooning control system comprising: a vehicle velocity setting unit for setting a target velocity of a platoon based on fuel efficiency data by driving velocity of a vehicle included in the platoon; a distance setting unit for setting a separation distance between the vehicle and a forward vehicle included in the platoon based on the target velocity set by the vehicle velocity setting unit; and a driving control unit for controlling the driving of the vehicle included in the platoon based on the target speed set by the vehicle velocity setting unit and the separation distance set by the distance setting unit. The vehicle platooning control system considers fuel efficiency characteristics of vehicles included in the platoon.
