A transmission medium, which consists of high permittivity tapes inserted in a horizontal mid-plane of a below cut-off parallel metal plate waveguide, was proposed for millimetre-wavelength. This guide has advantage such as wide bandwidth of 50% for use of high permittivity tape with a relative dielectric constant of 24. Moreover this guide exhibits low transmission loss, measured to be 3 dB/m at 50 GHz.
