The cognitive radios sense the spectrum dynamically and allocate the unoccupied bands to secondary users. A broadband receiver with >100 MHz bandwidth increases spectrum refresh rate and enhance the allocation of spectrum resources. This paper proposes practical design considerations for wideband receivers that is suitable for cognitive radio applications with enhanced techniques that improves system linearity and reduces power consumption.
