The paper focuses on charging and discharging control within the vehicle-to-grid concept. The paper defines an algorithm that controls the charging or discharging of electric vehicles connected to the general grid-connected charging station. The algorithm considers the cost functions of electric vehicle drivers and the charging station operator as well as charging and discharging constraints. As a result, the social welfare of the whole system is maximized while the network and charging/discharging constraints are met.
