This paper presents an innovative prototype device designed to improve vehicular traffic control by integrating fuzzy logic and computer vision. The system uses image processing techniques such as the YOLO (You Only Look Once) model for real-time vehicle detection and tracking. Fuzzy logic is implemented to make decisions based on the captured visual information, allowing adaptive and efficient traffic management. The design of the device, the implementation of fuzzy rules and membership functions, as well as experimental test results demonstrating the effectiveness of the prototype in dynamic traffic situations are detailed. This novel approach represents a significant contribution to the improvement of urban mobility, offering an intelligent and adaptive system for vehicular traffic control in urban and suburban environments. This work demonstrated that the waiting time at an intersection can be significantly reduced by applying this model where on average 83.2 % of cars manage to cross the intersection in 300 seconds.
