Without the widespread use of computers, today’s control flows would be inconceivable. This paper outlines about using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) to operate real-time adaptive traffic lights, and design a 4-way road intersection with appropriate signalling and implementation of an intellectual traffic light controlling module to meet the needs. For the hardware execution of this work, FX5U-32MT PLC from IQF MITSUBISHI SERIES is used. The ladder logic program of GXWORKS3 was utilized to design the system on GTDesigner3 that is connected with GOT2000 main screen hardware panel. In a PLC simulation environment, the system was developed to assess traffic throughput in order to prevent or relieve prevailing congestion problems. The GT Designer3 configuration software was used to formulate a secluded traffic light monitoring system at the crossing point, which regulated traffic lights in real-time with much higher effectiveness. Around the same instant, the configuration picture allows us to modify the conditions of the traffic lights. Following the dissemination of information, choices on rescheduling and sequencing are made in a coordinated manner.
