Since a decoupled filter in a line-of-sight (LOS) coordinate system (LCS) is an approximation, its stability cannot be guaranteed. Stochastic properties of the decoupled tracking filters in the LCS are presented. A predicted LCS that reduces the filter bias is used, and conditions of approximations for the decoupled filter are investigated. Using a Lyapunov-like condition, a sufficient condition that the filter operates in the stable region is described.<>
