Electric vehicle utilizes regenerative braking which converts kinetic energy and stores it in the battery for later use. However, there are limitations to the amount of energy that can be effectively regenerated. When the batteries are fully charged, the regenerative braking system becomes limited in its ability to slow down the vehicle. As electric vehicle gain prominence in the transportation sector, their reliable operation in hilly regions poses unique challenges due to increase in high speeds at downhill condition which cannot be compensated by mechanical brakes and regenerative braking operation alone. To avoid excessive buildup of heat in the braking system, we need to have an efficient energy management and dissipation system in the electric vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of the vehicles. And this paper presents the Fuzzy Logic Control Strategy to operate that Energy Dissipation System.
