Vehicle theft has become a major concern worldwide, leading to significant financial losses and security risks for vehicle owners. The proposed system allows vehicle owners to receive instant theft intimation and control their vehicle's engine remotely using Short Message Service (SMS) technology. The system consists of a microcontroller-based control unit installed in the vehicle, a fingerprint sensor, a Global Positioning System (GPS) module, a GSM module, and a mobile phone. The control unit continuously monitors the vehicle's status, including its location and ignition status. In the event of an unauthorized access attempt or theft, the control unit immediately sends an SMS alert to the owner's mobile phone, providing real-time information about the vehicle's location. The owner can then take appropriate action, such as notifying the authorities or tracking the vehicle themselves. Furthermore, the system allows the owner to remotely control the vehicle's engine via SMS commands. By sending specific SMS commands to the control unit, the owner can either immobilize the engine, preventing the thief from driving away, or start the engine remotely, facilitating convenient vehicle retrieval.
