A co-channel interference (CCI) rejection technique for diversity wireless receivers is proposed based on independent component analysis (ICA). Because of the adoption of complex notation, the receiver is able to perform the suppression at baseband instead of IF stage, and the dimensionality of the signal model is reduced by half. Consequently, the processing speed is kept low, and the structure is applicable to any type of modulation scheme. Computer simulations show that an interference rejection of 17 to 27dB is achievable for frame lengths of 50 to 1000 symbols in QPSK receivers. The algorithm has fast convergence, and it is robust to input signal to interference ratios and the type of fading channel.
