The most common road right of tram can be described as independent at road section and mixed at the intersection, so the conflict between tram and other types of traffic modes appears. As tramcar has a high operating speed and long braking distance, some potential safety hazards may exist. Paper finds that most tram accident occurs at the intersection and collision with pedestrians has the most serious consequences. Then combining the analysis of the safety factors of tram crossing the intersection, this paper has focused on the analysis of collision accident between the tram and the pedestrian based on ATA (Accident Tree Analysis) theory. Structure importance of each basic event is calculated and high-risk events are found. Based on the analysis results, some preventive measures are proposed and the probability of occurrence of tram collision accident with pedestrian is reduced effectively.
