Energy consumption optimization has become research hot spot. To explore the impact of vehicle calibration strategies based on driving characteristics of CLTC on the energy consumption optimization of domestically operated vehicles, this paper takes a compact SUV that is calibrated for emissions and fuel consumption optimization based on WLTC as the research object and proposes a calibration strategy based on CLTC. Using the VSP-Bin partitioning method, a more microscopic perspective is used to study the optimization effect of vehicle energy consumption before and after calibration. The research results show that compared to WLTC, the proposed CLTC-based calibration strategy is more suitable for the real road traffic operation of vehicles in China, and the overall energy consumption is reduced by approximately 3.61 % after calibration.
