The proposal is located in the south and east portions of Alameda County in the State of California. It includes the reconstruction of Interstate 580 to an 8-lane freeway and a median wide enough to accommodate other modes of transportation. The construction project extends from the unincorporated community of San Lorenzo on the west to the Livermore-Amador Valley near Dublin on the east. Environmental impact on this proposal is mainly related to air and noise pollution due to increased use of the automobile, infringement on open space, loss of housing units and diminishing of scenic resources in the canyon area.
