Construction is proposed of a extension to a runway safety area at this time, with a possible future extension; construction of a base course and bituminous surface; extension of the existing high intensity lighting system; runway marking; obstruction removal, and relocation of the REILs and VASI, and possible acquisition of land for use as a borrow source. Runway extension should result in minimal environmental degradation; main impact would be due to acquisition of borrow.
