Aircraft operational safety is dependent upon the prompt distribution of airworthiness directives issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It is very important to enhance the timely distribution of airworthiness information to the operators of U.S. registered aircraft. To facilitate this, a prototype system is under development which will track, identify, and retrieve civil aircraft information on both a domestic and international basis. The final result will be the delivery of a turn-key system to the FAA. This system will comply with FAA requirements for data management as well as incorporate a user-friendly, automated, menu driven filing and retrieval system.
