The Manual has been developed to assist traffic engineers in the complex operational problem of selecting the most effective pretimed signal control parameter value set (cycle length, splits, phase sequence, offsets) for given diamond interchange geometrics and traffic demands. The procudures for determining the preferred parameter values are delineated in detail and all necessary graphs and tables presented. To illustrate the application of the design manual, a comprehensive example is used, paralleling the steps of the given procedures. All steps are illustrated in detail. (Author)
