Global Insight was contracted by the Port of Algiers to carry out the study of the feasibility and necessity of building a second container terminal to handle to growing volume of containers moving through the Port. Global Insight worked with Moffat & Nichol International, a global port engineering and design firm, and with AMISHIP, a local Algerian maritime consulting firm. The First Phase of the study was completed in July 2003 with a presentation on the Study findings to Port executive staff being held on July 29 in Algiers.
