A system has been developed for analyzing the fuel consumption of commercial vehicles. Transducers for measuring accelerator position, fuel flow, torque in the drive shaft, and speed are used. A data logging unit scans these transducers and records the results on magnetic tape. Subsequent storage of data, analysis, and presentation of results are achieved using a minicomputer. Examples of test procedures and typical results are shown. (Copyright (c) Crown Copyright 1979.)
