Today’s naval aircraft are faster, harder hitting, and carry a greater punch than ever before. Development of the “Multiple Bomb Rack” now makes it possible for naval aircraft to carry as many bombs as a World War II heavy bomber. This paper describes the problem areas resulting from the current trend toward “multipurpose” aircraft and weapons, along with a description of some solutions to the problem of weapons handling and aircraft rearming.
