A comprehensive study of how the Air Force is improving its spares management program through use of high speed electronic data processing equipment; improving its personnel skill level through training and higher education; and by instituting a series of management control systems to insure reliability of data output. Treats accomplishments of improved Air Force spares management resulting from critical examination of the requirements for each of the one million spare parts in the inventory. Shows marked reduction in dollars needed to support the combat capability of the Air Force.
