The train is becoming an increasingly popular mode of transport due to its comfort and environmental friendliness. In the rail sector, EU policy focuses on the core objective of creating a single EU rail network system that ensures the development of railways and promotes rail travel. This calls for sustainable, safe and reliable mobility by rail. The chapter analyses the main documents regulating the process of rail passenger transportPassengertransport in the EU and the Republic of Lithuania, as well as the indicators of rail passenger transportPassengertransport. It examines the impact of transport dynamics on the EU and Lithuanian economies. The concept of benefits/priorities of rail travel and a schematic model of factorsFactors that influence the comfortTravelcomfort of rail travel are presented. The analysis of this model is carried out.
