A fully automatic robot for pipeline inspection and maintenance is built to detect flaws and defects, which eventually lead to rupture and leakage, for replacing human laborious works with automated machines. This robot developed here can move over the outside along pipelines and has various mobility and manoeuvrability, such as passing over flanges, T-joints and others. It has also capability of detecting small defects and flaws by scanning the surface of pipes with various diagnostic sensors.
