Current and future weapon systems degree of functional integration and automation ever achieved, which mandates a capability for performance validation and system verification of equivalent sophistication. The authors present an automated-test-system concept and implementation that reflects the application of top-down system design to the overall weapon-system test support requirement and encompasses all phases of the weapon system's life cycle.
