At present, the safety of trains is one of the most important components of the reputation of the railway company. It also affects the company’s profits, so this issue remains relevant from year to year. This article describes the problems of the use of emergency braking on the passenger rolling stock. The main problem is the use of pneumatic emergency braking, which results in a number of negative consequences. The authors proposed an electro-pneumatic emergency braking device with increased efficiency, which is based on the algorithm of adaptive brake pressure control. The device makes it possible to significantly reduce the brake and eliminate the wheel set locking with further formation of slid flats. The depletion of the brake line is also eliminated, and longitudinal-dynamic reactions are reduced. The proposed device is integrated into the diagram of a two-wire circuit to control the electro-pneumatic brakes of the passenger train.
