This paper explores the use of a parabolized model for hydrodynamic stability study of a two-dimensional flow with complex swirling motion. The approach for predicting transition to vortex breakdown based on the parabolized stability equations to be discussed in this paper reduces the hydrodynamic stability study on the solution of a two-point linear differential eigenvalue problem. The parallel implementation of the LPSE using spectral collocation technique is considered and the numerical stability of the governing equations is presented. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed numerical scheme are tested for various values of the involved parameters.
