This paper describes the status of the AirTrain program. Topics include a system description, with emphasis on the use of Flexiblok communication-based train control. It will also touch upon the guideway running surface and guidebeam (with its unique seismic considerations), switches, stations, non-train control communications, vehicles, use of baggage carts on the vehicles, a newly-designed Maintenance and Recovery vehicle, power distribution, and testing that will take place prior to passenger service.
