Frequent lane change behavior at weaving section of signalized intersection upstream may lead to capacity bottlenecks and latent driving danger. To improve this, the influence of traffic sign to lane change behavior is analyzed in the paper. Choosing urban road weaving section as study area and using traffic flow data collected by camera video, the authors analyzed lane change decision point and lane change duration time. The experimental car is tested in the field and drivers get in-vehicle information. Vehicle speed is compared before and after lane change. Lane change decision position is compared between in-vehicle information and traffic sign. The result shows that drivers without in-vehicle information have more difficulties in changing lane, and they are more dangerous in the lane changing process. The research results are meaningful to traffic safety research at weaving section.
